The Damansara Heights residence is a full-turnkey, design and build project in Kuala Lumpur. The client wanted a light-filled and spacious family home which they could 'grow into' and enjoy for the years to come. Our design aesthetic married the tropical nature of Kuala Lumpur with the client's fondness for English contemporary design. We decided to use tropical-inspired fabrics from Jim Thompson, Dedar and Romo to add an infusion of life and colour. Bespoke fitted joinery units were designed to enhance its tropical nature.
Locally-sourced materials such as Malaysian rattan were employed and juxtaposed with elements such as raw, Thai silk to provide an elegant yet relaxed feel of the space. Chevron French oak floors are used throughout the residence to provide an air of lightness and warmth. Wallpapers, both hand-painted and textured are used throughout the rooms, providing a sumptuous, yet intimate sanctum for the family.
